Jamilah McClain is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the state of North Carolina. She holds a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in Social Work and earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Georgia. She provides therapy to children, adolescents and adults through individual, family, and group sessions.
She has many years of experience working with individuals having trouble managing stressful life events such as trauma related sexual, physical and emotional abuse, loss of employment, family conflict, grief and loss, domestic violence, identity issues, youth in foster care, youth transitioning out of the foster care system to independent living, and anger related issues.
Jamilah studied and specializes in healing through the arts and enjoys incorporating it in therapy and group settings’. Dance, music, and art are a few therapeutic tools she uses to help individuals heal from difficult life circumstances. Jamilah also uses a multi-disciplinary treatment approach, utilizing a wide range of proven progressive tools to clarify problems, sustain progress and stabilize each person’s life. Interventions include Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Seeking Safety and educational counseling.
